STRENGTH THROUGH COLLABORATION
UAB and the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center are world-renowned research institutions with a long-track record of success. UAB brings in over 500 million dollars in NIH funding annually, and is ranked in the top 25 academic institutions in the US. The O’Neal Cancer Center is an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center, and home to world leaders in a number of different specialties. Our home department, the Department of Radiology, boasts a state-of-the-art cyclotron and nuclear medicine program that has an incredible track-record of clinical translation. In addition to the clinical facility, our laboratory space is housed in the recently renovated Wallace Tumor Institute which is centrally located on the UAB medical campus. A small animal imaging facility provides support for animal studies and includes equipment for PET, SPECT, CT, MRI ultrasound, luminescent and fluorescent imaging. The environment is highly motivated but also very collaborative, a combination that makes cross-departmental relationships easy and productive.
